Hey, I forgot this was here...

So, it has been almost a year since I last posted on here. I did okay for a while with posting, and the whole thing didn't quite die. Then school started. It's amazing how little you want to write when you have to do school.
After arriving at school, I started with my job in the school cafeteria. Of course, I managed to get the worst possible job available, as a dishwasher. Now don't get me wrong, washing dishes isn't so bad, but working in the dishroom of the school cafeteria was hell. Students have no regard for those that are working back in that swamp, and the managers even less. It would start out really slow in there, and after about half an hour of sitting around waiting for the rush to start, we would get hit with so many trays that the whole area would be backed up, no matter how fast we worked. And that would set the pace until we were done and could leave. I rarely made it out of that dishroom during working hours, and it sucked.
AT the beginning of the spring semester, I managed to talk to one of the managers at the campus restaurant, the Monte Cassino Inn. I had gone up to have a beer after a particularly frustrating work night in the dishroom, and I got in a conversation with him about cooking. He said the restaurant was in need of some cooks, and I was able to talk him into letting me come up there to cook.about two weeks later, I was up there cooking permanently. it's a much better job, and I am much happier there.
First semester of classes went fairly well. I did okay in most of my classes. Math kinda sucked... For the spring semester, I did much better. Lowest grade was a C+. Summer classes will start tomorrow.
Speaking of classes, last semester I had one of the coolest classes that could be offered at a college: Chemistry of Beer and Wine! That was the most fun class I have ever taken. We HAD to do tastings! It was REQUIRED! We were even allowed to bring beers to class. The main project for the class was brewing a batch of beer. The class was divided into five teams, based on the style of beer we wanted to brew. I was in the dark beer team, so we brewed a chocolate porter, which ended up being an amazing beer. The great part of the class was that it really changed my perceptions of beer and wine. If people thought me a beer snob before, they may find that I have become absolutely unbearable! Well, okay, not exactly unbearable, but I definitely have even more of a taste for quality beers and wines. Another great part of the beer class is that I'll be able to continue brewing while at school, as I have joined the brew crew here on campus working towards starting up a brewery. One of these days, people will be able to come on campus and actually drink a beer made by the students!
Well, I don't want to write so much that people don't want to read, so I will post more later.
